Serving Ocean, Monmouth, Atlantic Counties

This is our SIP Sample Section

    SIP stands for 'screened-in porch'

     - so you can sit back, sip and smile...

There are currently four SIP projects below

                                                                                                (Back to Sips)

1. Adams Project Description:

The Adams have a new home with a large back yard. New to the shore area,

they considered building a nice sized patio for outdoor relaxation and

entertaining, but found out quickly about the bug-of-the-week and adjusted

their plans. They wanted that peaceful easy feeling of being outdoors, without

    the bugs - sound familiar?

    DSD Adams Solution:

Using our RoomWeaver software, we designed a 14 X 18 PGT NatureScape Sip

with an open gable-end roof line. The screen/windows will be Eze-Breeze

vertical four-track panels, there will be a cabana door in the left (wall #1) for

easy access to a nice sized patio area for the barbeque and sunbathing. The

open gable will have Eze-Breeze fixed vinyl trapezoids to let-all-the-sun-shine     in.

Adams: Yards of yard

to get started

Adams: Small concrete

patio needs to be built

out with footing

Adams: The sip design, orthographically speaking

Adams: A virtual look

at their sip, patio and

landscaping concepts ...

Adams: First footings

forward...

Adams: Now there's a concrete slab to get us started ...

Adams: Framing up

Adams: Setting in the

ridge beam

Adams: Guess we're 'bout

1/2 done...

Adams: Looking a bit

like the virtual look, no?

Adams: ...with a lovely view of the harbor ... Adams: ... another great plan comes together. Our work here is done. Enjoy.

2. Baker's Project Description:

The Baker family have a beautiful new home, but like the Adams (and

everyone else in the area) they've come to realize that to get the family out

doors and enjoy their lovely private yard, they needed a screened-in porch

(sip), Driscoll Signature Sip, that is, so they could sit, sip and smile of course.

    DSD Baker's Solution:

Back to the drawing board with our VHR design software we came up with

and scratched a number of plans before settling on an "L" shaped 10x18x16

PGT NatureScape sip with a studio style roof line. Rumor has it there may be

a hot tub in the 10x7 section.

(click on any image to enlarge)

Baker: Lets see now,

we may have to move

the little house first ...

Baker: Lets draw it up and see how it fits.... Baker: Looks like a plan. We should get started ...

Baker: Framing up around the h/t... Baker: Floor sure we got a hot tub workin' in this sip ... Baker: Gettting those PGT Eze-Breeze panels in place ...

Baker: Here comes the roof, won't be long now

Baker: Looking good. Note: matching roof shingles, the clean cement facing and a new lawn too boot. Well, it's time to p/u our last shovel...

Baker: ...and leave the Baker's with their beautiful views, from the hot tub, but of course.

3. The Dooley Project Description:

The Dooley family are actually neighbors of the Adams (above) and one day

inquired "we would like that peaceful-easy-feeling, sitting (and sippin' - of

course) in our own screened-in porch (sip), can you help us? Don't hang

your head down, Dooley, you've come to the right place, Driscoll Signature

    Decks are sippin' specialists...

    DSD Dooley Solution:

Now the Dooley's have an "L" shaped back and a unique roof line but after a

few clicks on the VHR design software we came up with the perfect fit: a

16 x 16 PGT NatureScape sip with a neat studio roof line to compliment the

rest of the house and yard. So let's stop talkin' about it and get started...

Dooley: Might be a challenge for others, but the Driscolls knows how... Dooley: ... to do the orthographic thing. Yeah, your in good hands Dooley, this one will work... Dooley: Here's a quick peek at what the little sipper' will look like.

Dooley: We start this work of art w/a few (straight) brush strokes... Dooley: ... and before you know it, wall one is sittin' pretty (note the almond color match). We can-do for-you Dooley Dooley: OK, put on your reading glasses and click to enlarge ...

Dooley: Looks like a clean studio line fit ... Dooley: ... another good sign is when the Driscoll trailer is ready to roll Dooley: ...our work is done here, sure looks a lot like the design photo, above, no? Keep ya chin up Dooley and enjoy!

4.Guinness Project Description:

The Guinness venture, or better yet - adventure, began when an architect in

the family found Driscoll Signature Decks quoted in an article in The New York

Times. After reviewing our web site, as you're doing right now, he advised

them to call us immediately, as you should do right now 609-204-2424. OK.

Enough with the testimonial commercials, but think about it - family, architect,

NYTimes, recommend - you just can't make this stuff up ...

  DSD Guinness Solution:

The Guinness plan starts as a custom deck project (click here for the journel).

You see, we needed to design and build a rather large deck for the PGT/SIP to

sit on. So with no further adieu, we present the PGT screened-in porch portion

  of the Guinness project.

Guinness: a sunny side up view of the custom deck project ... Guinness: an upside view of the 12' step-up octagon. Note in foreground the plywood decking for the soon-to-be- built sip. Guinness: make a left at the top of the stairs ...

Guinness: No ordinary sip here, no this one is a

15' X 18' PGT/SIP with a 12' open-cathederal ceiling ...

Guinness: but first we'll need a little ridge pole... Guinness: and then a roof, of course. If you don't mind us saying, this is coming together nicely, Driscoll.

Guinness: We just can't wait anymore for the "special order" railings ... Guinness: Inside - Out. See second photo above ... Guinness: Ahhhh running the railings at last. We must admit: the "SO" color was - worth? the wait ...

Guinness: Casey Jones keeping a watchful eye on the proceedings... Guinness: Tis' the Driscoll boys puttin' on the finishin' touches ... Guinness: Lookin' good from way out here...
Guinness: Our favorite view of this project. Lots of detail here, enlarge/enjoy. Guinness: A view from the top. Note the matching roof shingles and skylight ... Guinness: Click here for before, this is the AFTER. Just a little site clean-up and we're on our way...
